The latest trailer for the highly anticipated fourth season of The Expanse has been released!

Rocket Science VFX Featured in CG Society Issue

Rocket Science VFX was recently featured in the popular visual effects publisher CG Society for our work on season 4 of The Expanse.

Canada’s #1 Drama, “Murdoch Mysteries,” Is Back With Its 13th Season

One of Rocket Science’s long term partners, “Murdoch Mysteries,” is set to premiere its brand new season on September 16th at 8 pm ET/8:30 pm NT on CBC. RSVFX is happy to be working again on this 1-hour crime drama, having delivered a wide spectrum of key shots and sequences for past seasons.

Set during the 1900s in Toronto Ontario, audiences follow Detective William Murdoch and his wife Dr. Julia Ogden, as they solve a string of murders throughout the city.

Rocket Science’s “Sweetness in The Belly” set to Premiere at TIFF

The very first clip for the book adaptation “Sweetness in the Belly” is out now, only days ahead of its worldwide premiere at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival.

Based on author Camilla Gibb’s 2005 best-selling novel, this Toronto based drama stars Dakota Fanning, an orphan who works to reunite refugees with their families while also hoping to rekindle long lost love with the idealistic Doctor Aziz.

Never Meet your Heroes: Amazon’s The Boys at San Diego Comic-Con 2019

What if your childhood superhero turned out to be a corrupt, self-serving jerk?  Someone who saved lives — not for the truth and justice — but for fame and a paycheck?  In Evan Goldberg and Eric Kripke’s darkly twisted new tv series The Boys, the titular team of vigilantes take on the worst the super-”hero” world has to offer.  How do they do it? With good ol’ fashioned hard work and a willingness to fight dirty.

With only one week until its season premiere, RSVFX, is thrilled for fans to finally see the top- notch visual effects that we produced over the course of several episodes.

Until then, fans can learn more about what to expect  from The Boys Season 1 on Friday, July 19th at 3:30 p.m. PST at San Diego Comic-con. What secrets will the cast and crew divulge?  We’ll just have to wait and see!

The Beginning Of The End Starts July 19th

After three seasons, of laser-blasting, ship-flipping, bounty-grabbing action, the story of our favorite trio of Killjoys enters its final act. Will Johnny make good his escape? Will Dutch or Aneela come out on top?   Will D’avin finally find peace? There’s only one way to find out!

RSVFX — For multiple seasons, Rocket Science has been the engine driving Killjoys’ amazing visual effects.  Under the watchful eye of VFX Supervisor Anthony Paterson, Producer Lara Osland her cadre of amazing artists have helped bring Michelle Lovretta’s dystopian space opera to life — earning several Canadian Screen Award nominations in the process!

The beginning of the end starts Friday, July 19th at 10/9c on Syfy and at 10 p.m. on Space in Canada.

Rocket Science Wraps-Up Season 4 of The Expanse

This week, Rocket Science VFX wrapped its work on Season 4 of The Expanse.  Expectations this season are at an all-time high — and Rocket Science has stepped-up, delivering over 300 expertly-crafted shots of spaceships, complex environments and deep-space drama.

The Expanse will be front-and-centre at San Diego Comicon this Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 1 p.m. local time.  Will we get a “launch date” for Season 4 from Amazon Prime? Amazon’s The Boys has wrapped!

Production has wrapped on Rocket Science VFX’s  artistic contributions to the new Amazon Original Series, “The Boys”.  Led by Senior VFX Supervisor, Tom Turnbull, our team of Rocketeers completed several key VFX sequences over several episodes.   Look for the new series to be released worldwide for Amazon Prime subscribers this summer.

 

Rocket Science VFX at the Canadian Screen Awards

AS THE CSA GALA KICKS OFF THIS WEEK RSVFX REFLECTS ON ITS WORK ON KILLJOYS

The Canadian Screen Award’ is a prestigious ceremony held every year by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, honoring top Canadian talent in the film and television industry.  This year, Rocket Science VFX is proud to be nominated for Best Visual Effects for our work on the Space series Killjoys!

While working on Killjoys, Rocket Science created epic battle sequences, massive spaceships and immersive space environments. With the CSA Gala just a day away, lead Killjoys producer, Lara Osland, took time to reflect on the nomination and what it means for the team:

“It really was a privilege to partner with the amazing Michelle Lovretta and the dedicated Killjoys production team. Our talented VFX team had a blast bringing their vision to screen and we’re really grateful for this nomination. ”

Winners for Best Visual Effects are expected to be announced Wednesday March 27th but the live show will air on CBC, Sunday March 31st, 2019 at 8 p.m.
