Into the Badlands Season 3.5 Featurette

In anticipation of the Season 3.5 premiere of Into The Badlands on March 24 and 25, AMC and Rotten Tomatoes have released a new featurette.  The short film builds excitement for what’s in store in the final episodes and includes interviews with key cast members including Daniel Wu, Nick Frost, Babou Ceesay, Emily Beecham, and showrunners Miles Millar and Al Gough,

 

Greta released March 1

Following a special presentation at the Toronto International Film Festival, Neil Jordan’s feature film “Greta” starring Chloe-Grace Moretz and Isabelle Hupert, in a rare english language role, will be in wide theatrical release March 1, 2019.    Senior RSVFX Supervisor and company president Tom Turnbull, supervised the vfx work on the film and led the artist team for Rocket Science.

Killjoys team nominated for 2019 CSA!

The 2019 Canadian Screen Award Nominees have been announced and the Killjoys episode “The Kids are Alright” team have been nominated!   Congrats to production VFX Supervisor Michael Gibson and VFX Producer Danny McNair, RSVFX Supervisor Anthony Paterson, Producer Lara Osland, Coordinator Tim Sharp, and RSVFX Artists Rachad Meya, David Rezek, Mohsin Kazi, Min Young Kim,  and Chris Doe.    We’re going for the win!

 

Amazon is now the Worldwide Home of The Expanse!

A successful fan-driven campaign to save the Expanse after it’s season 3 Syfy cancellation resulted in it’s resurrection at a new home with Amazon.   They’ve decided to splash out on season 4 and the whole series in a big way!   As of February 8, Amazon is now the exclusive worldwide streaming home of the Expanse seasons 1-3 in over 200 hundred countries.   If you’ve got Amazon Prime, you can get caught up with the crew of the Rocinante anytime almost anywhere in the world!    We Rocket Scientists are excited to be now in full swing production of Season 4 and we’re looking forward to all the great things Amazon will bring to the party.  Look for the new season to debut later this year.

 

Netflix Original Film Polar Released Jan. 25

We are pleased to announce the worldwide release of the Netflix Original Film, Polar. starring Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal), Vanessa Hudgens (The Princess Switch), and Katheryn Winnick (Vikings), based on the Dark Horse graphic novel “Polar: Came from the cold”.   In conjunction with lead vfx studio, Mr. X, Rocket Science contributed several key vfx sequences totalling more than 40 vfx shots to the finished film.

 

Kin wide release Aug. 31

Kin is in wide release in North American theaters Aug. 31, 2018.   Directed by Jonathan and Josh Baker, and starring Miles Truitt, Jack Raynor, Dennis Quaid, James Franco, and Zoe Kravitz, Kin features more than 140 visual effects created by Senior RSVFX Supervisor Anthony Paterson and our team of artists.

 

Wish Upon Released

RSVFX is excited to announce the release of the Broad Green Pictures feature film “Wish Upon”, directed by John R. Leonetti. Our team of Rocket Scientists, led by VFX Supervisor Anthony Paterson, contributed more than 100 visual effects shots to the finished film.

The Expanse Season 3 premieres April 11

RSVFX is hard at work expanding the horizons of Season 3 of “The Expanse”. Catch the new adventures of the crew of the Rocinante beginning April 11 on Syfy and Space. The Expanse is an American science fiction television series developed by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, based on The Expanse series of novels by James S. A. Corey. The series is set in a future where humanity has colonized the Solar System and follows United Nations executive Chrisjen Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdashloo), police detective Josephus Miller (Thomas Jane), ship’s officer Jim Holden (Steven Strait) and his crew, as they unravel a conspiracy that threatens peace in the system and the survival of humanity.
